What to copy, and what not to
Use the Proton version that the current ProtonDB reports for this app agree on, and re-read them after 1.0.0.2. Steam Deck is Verified, and the official help center has a Deck article. Deck defaults are the closest thing to a vendor Linux-adjacent setting. A launch option from a 2024 comment can fight the 1.0 build. If the game is Verified on Deck and gold on ProtonDB, it is playable for many people. It is still not a Linux port.

Which Proton version is best?
Whichever the current reports name. This page will not freeze a version number that was already drifting on 16 October 2026.
Is the Deck rating the same as a desktop GPU?
No. Verified means Valve’s Deck test. A desktop Linux machine is the ProtonDB sample.
